Our History

We have been updating the place again this winter. It has been fun. We put in new flooring in the kitchen and annex. We also did some painting. Let us know what you think.

We had a tough winter and spring. A tree fell on one of the gazebos and the dock. We built a new, permanent dock.  Once the dock was completed we were able to move the boat and open up the swimming area again. We also have a new dock off of the beach.

We now have 5 rooms to rent and we are hoping 2017 will be our best year to date. We decided not to do any renovations this winter and are ready to start the season. We have the option of a murder mystery dinner in the off season now and hope people will take advantage of this great new addition.

What were we thinking?!  We aren't selling this place. We plan to be here for at least a few more years. And best of all, we couldn't disappoint our guests, we will be opening a suite on the 3rd floor later in the summer for our guests to rent. It of course has its own private bath  and a couple of chairs for relaxing and reading with the natural light coming in from the windows behind you.

We updated the downstairs. There is now a 1/2 bath on the 1st floor, there is a new kitchen, there is an annex off of the kitchen with additional seating for our guests and an additional refrigerator. We considered selling the B&B.

I look back and think “Why didn’t I do this sooner”!? I truly love doing this and plan on continuing for many years to come.

My passion in life has always been cooking, enjoying people, providing for family and friends “a warm and inviting stay here at the lake”.  Because of this AND my husband and children'‘s prodding, Jim and I create a Bed & Breakfast out of our home.  So after some renovations, new decor - thanks to my daughter Heather'’s talent - we open late July of 2008.  Since then we have installed bathrooms for all the bedrooms, made improvements to the outside decking, new carpet almost everywhere,  added kayaks to our list of activities, upgraded our kitchen, and I have created many new recipes for my guests to enjoy.

We purchased the land and cottage from his mother.  We enlarged the cottage by adding one large living room and turned Jim’'s old bedroom into a bunk bed room for our two children.  Two more kids and two more bunks within the next 4 years. We kept it as a summer and fall vacation retreat until Sept of 1991;  which is when we took down the cottage and built the three story home that is here today. We moved in spring of 1992. The kids grew up - moved out and on with their lives and I found myself looking for a new career in life.

My husband’s parents purchased the land on which the B&B stands. At that time Jim (husband) was only 7 years old and there was only a small two story cottage with kitchen, bath and one bedroom/living space. They created a second bedroom out of the outside porch.  This was summertime living only.  My husband and his mom planted the first and very prominent willow tree you see today.  That willow tree and its very abundant root system helped hold the ground and beach area during two major floods on Keuka Lake.
